DESCRIPTION:The 33rd Annual Nationwide event\, and Sheriff Webre is still reminding citizens that there is still time to sign up to host a "block party" from 6pm to 9pm on Tuesday\, August 2nd.\n\nLafourche Parish Sheriff's Office deputies will be attending these block parties throughout the parish to meet community members to discuss crime prevention and any other concerns.\n\nExplorers from POST 323 will also be conducting fingerprinting and DNA swabbing in some areas\, and hot dogs\, soft drinks\, and other refreshments will be provided at each of these block parties.\n\nAnyone interested in hosting a block party is asked to contact Lieutenant Valerie Martinez  at (985) 449-4479 or via email at valerie-martinez@lpso.net. The deadline to organize a block party is July 22nd.
